Caleb Wong’s first cello teachers were Takao Mitzushima and Uzi Wiesel, and he is currently studying with Howard Penny at the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) in Melbourne. He has participated in cello master classes with Alban Gerhardt and Kyril Zlotnikov, and as a pianist with Lang Lang. He was awarded a scholarship to attend the Keshet Eilon Strings Mastercourse in Israel, where he worked with Gavriel Lipkind and Hillel Zori. Later he was a finalist in the 2016 ANAM Concerto Competition, performing the Elgar concerto with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra on Australian National Radio. Last year, he performed solo with Orchestra Victoria in the Australian Ballet production Verve performing Tchaikovsky’s Rococo Variations.
