Born in Korea, Lynn Byun started her violin studies at the age of six at the selective Sunhwa Arts School before moving to Australia. Lynn studied at the Sydney Conservatorium and at the University of Southern California and she has performed throughout Korea, Australia, South America and the United States as a soloist and chamber musician. In 2011 she performed at the launch event of Australia-Korea Year of Friendship 2011 and with Ensemble Consonant was invited to the prestigious Seoul Arts Centre's annual Summer Chamber Music Festival. Lynn has a passion and talent for teaching, seeking innovative and effective ways of developing young musicians holistically. In 2008, Lynn attended the International Colourstrings Symposium in Finland and has extensively studied the pedagogy of Geza Szilvay incorporating this methodology into her teaching.
